Research Interests

Dr. Bazavov's group primarily focuses on addressing fundamental questions in the physics of strong interactions. The quantum field theory that describes the strong interactions is Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). Solving QCD is challenging, but can be done with lattice QCD. Lattice QCD is a computational tool that turns the original quantum field theoretical problem into a problem of evaluating integrals of very high dimensionality that are typically computed using Markov Chain Monte Carlo method.
