Congratulations to the 2017 class of MSU University Distinguished Professors, including the CMSE department's very own, Shanker Balasubramaniam! This recognition is among the highest honors that can be bestowed on a faculty member at Michigan State.
CMSE Student Connor Glosser, in part with CMSE faculty member Shanker Balasubramaniam and Physics Dept. faculty Carlo Piermarocchi, has been published in the American Physical Society Journal and featured in the Kaleidoscope collection.
Three nuclear physics research projects involving Michigan State University researchers have won grants from the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC): Christlieb for the TEAMS project and Bazavov for the Computing the Properties of Matter with Leadership Computing Resources project.
Visualization, created in part by CMSE Faculty Brian O'Shea, that was accepted to the SC17 Scientific Visualization & Data Analytics Showcase. It will appear in the Scientific Visualization & Data Analytics Showcase Technical program session on Wednesday, November 15, from 10:30 am - 12 pm.

This summer ICER & CMSE collaborated with Faculty Member Dr. Brian O'Shea & the first Advanced Computational Research Experience (ACRES) at Michigan State University which hosted eleven undergrads for research.
