Fourteen Michigan State University faculty members from the College of Natural Science and Lyman Briggs College have been named to the second cohort of fellows of the STEM Gateway Teaching Fellows Program.

Yuying Xie is a co-investigator on a NSF’s Neural and Cognitive Systems (NCS) program, which will determine 1) whether, how, and with what statistics recent and remote memories interleaved in the neocortex at rest; 2) how the statistical structure of resting-state and task-related neocortex activity changes after acquisition of substantial semantic knowledge.

Michigan State University has been selected as a site for an NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates program. The selection comes with a 3-year, $360,000 grant.
