The Engineering Distinguished Scholar (EDS) Program is created to recruit the most outstanding applicants with unique backgrounds to graduate study in engineering at Michigan State.

The EDS award allows its recipients to begin research with a faculty mentor early in their graduate career. It also includes a monthly stipend, tuition waiver, health benefits, and travel funding for conferences and professional meetings.

For nomination, all PhD applicants for seven different fields in the College of Engineering are automatically considered for the EDS awards. Highly competitive applicants demonstrate excellence in academic and research experiences as well as a commitment to leadership and community engagement.

The complete list of awardees is shown in this link here.

Again, congratulations to CMSE graduate students Alexander McKim, Robert Termuhlen, and Julian Venegas for receiving this award!
