CMSE facullty member Yingda Cheng receives 2018 Simons Foundation Fellowship

Yingda Cheng received a 2018 Simons Foundation Fellowship supporting her cutting edge research on discontinuous Galerkin methods with applications to semiconductor device simulations, plasma physics, and nonlinear optics.
The Simons Fellows programs in both Mathematics and Theoretical Physics provide funds to faculty for up to a semester-long research leave from classroom teaching and administrative obligations. Only 40 Simons Fellowships are awarded over all of mathematics each year.
