Anna Little has been awarded the AMS-Simons Travel Grant administered by the American Mathematical Society with support from the Simons Foundations

Each grant provides an early-career mathematician with $2,000 per year for two years to be used for research-related travel. The AMS-Simons Travel Grants Program acknowledges the importance of research interaction and collaboration in mathematics and aims to facilitate this for recent PhD recipients.

The selection procedure was based on her curriculum vitae, research statement, and the recommendation of two faculty members. Her recommendations came from: Yuying Xie (postdoc mentor) and Matthew Hirn (postdoc mentor and AMS Simons grant mentor).

Additionally the CMSE department will receive an amount equal to 20% of the travel grant each year ($400). This amount is not university overhead, but is to be used by the department to enhance its research environment.

Again, congratulations to Anna Little!
