CMSE Student Elena Wang Recognized as 3MT® Award Winner
We would like to congratulate Elena Xinyi Wang on her achievement as a 3MT® Award
winner. Wang recently completed her PhD at the Department of Computational Mathematics,
Science, and Engineering (CMSE) at Michigan State University under the guidance of
Dr. Liz Munch. Her research interests include topological data analysis (TDA), computational
topology and geometry, and machine learning, with a focus on developing novel tools
for data analysis using topology and geometry.
The 3MT® competition is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland. Participants present their thesis in just three minutes using a single slide, aiming to effectively communicate their research to a non-specialist audience. Winning this prestigious award highlights Wang’s exceptional ability to convey complex research concepts in a concise and compelling manner.
