The CMSE Graduate Team is bringing the Fall 2026 Open House to provide an opportunity to learn more about the program, requirements and electives, funding opportunities, application documents and deadlines, and answer your questions! The CMSE Ph.D. program prepares the future field leaders with in-depth knowledge in computational mathematics and its applications to solve the challenging problems in science, engineering, health, education, and other domains. The students will systematically learn the cutting-edge theories/methodologies and techniques in scientific computing, data science, and artificial intelligence (AI), and will be able to advance scientific discoveries and engineering paradigms via synergistic inter-disciplinary research projects.

The Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering (CMSE) at Michigan State University is excited to host a joint event to celebrate students' and faculty research and excellence and department's 10th year anniversary. We will be hosting a three-day joint conference, Workshop on Frontiers in Computational Science and Engineering: Celebrating a Decade of CMSE Excellence and The 5th Data Science Student Conference (DISC 2025), on Aug 18–20, 2025, bringing together undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty from MSU and other U.S. institutions to engage in interdisciplinary exchange across data and computational sciences.The three-day conference aims to bring together undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty from MSU and other U.S. institutions to engage in interdisciplinary exchange across data and computational sciences.
