SIAM Great Lakes 2023 meeting at MSU on Oct 14th
The SIAMGL 2023 organizing committee will be hosting the SIAM Great Lakes 2023 meeting at MSU this Oct 14. The committee is accepting mini-symposium suggestions until Sept 1, and contributed talks and requests for travel funding (from junior participants) until Sept 15.
The SIAM GL is a regional SIAM meeting held annually. The 2023 program consists of 3 plenary lectures: Selim Esedoglou (Univ Michigan) Elizabeth Munch (MSU), and Takis Souganidis (Univ. Chicago), 15-20 mini-symposium, and some contributed talks. There is no registration fee, and partial support for travel and lodging will be offered to junior participants. The workshop is partially supported by SIAM and by the Department of Mathematics at MSU. The organizing committee includes Keith Promislow, Russell Schwab, and Olga Turanova.
The SIAM Great Lakes meeting are popular regional meetings that attract many graduate students from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. They are excellent venues for graduate students to gain their first opportunity to give an external talk.
