CMSE UNDERGRADUATE ADVISING
From signing up for courses to career advice, from graduate school preparation to internship searches, or anything in between, your CMSE advisor is here to help!
Your CMSE advisor is here to:
- Help you stay on track to graduation
- Assist in domain expertise development through additional major/minor exploration
- Connect you to campus and community resources and partners
- Create a space for collaboration and discussion
Because the Data Science major has many courses that must be taken one after the other in succession, I strongly recommend meeting with me at least once a semester to ensure that you are staying on track. The earlier you reach out, the more time we have to work on solutions! To schedule a meeting with me, you may select an appointment from my calendar on SIS.
**Be sure that you are selecting 0073 – Data Science/CMSE Advising, as well as Zoom Appointments for the format. Otherwise, my meetings may not appear.**
You may also use the guide below for assistance on finding my calendar and scheduling appointments:

SCHEDULING COURSES
As courses tend to fill up relatively quickly, I recommend enrolling in courses as soon as you are eligible. To find your date and time of eligibility (also called your Enrollment Appointment):
- Log in to SIS
- Select “Classes”
- Select “Enrollment Dates” in the left navigation panel
Deadlines for enrolling in and withdrawing from courses for each semester can be found in the SIS Class Search – simply click on a course in your desired semester, and those dates should be provided once the information box appears.
For guidance on enrolling in, withdrawing from, and swapping courses, I recommend checking out the following guides created by the SIS team:
- Enrolling in Courses
- Enrolling in Courses from Shopping Cart (My recommendation!)
