Prof. Guanqun (Vivian) Cao is the 1855 Professor in Statistics and Probability with
a joint appointment in CMSE. Her research is on statistical modeling and algorithms
related to DEI and topics in high-dimensional statistics and machine learning. Prof.
Cao earned her PhD in Statistics from MSU; prior to her return she was an Associate
Professor in Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University. Her office is in Wells,
