Graduate Certificates
The Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering offers two graduate certificates: one in Computational Modeling, and a second in High Performance Computing. These are available to both students who are currently enrolled in a graduate program at Michigan State University and also those who are not MSU students but who wish to gain expertise in these subjects.
If you are a current MSU student, you can enroll in the graduate certificate by filling out the appropriate request form and bringing to the CMSE graduate secretary in the CMSE main office (1501 Engineering Building) or by emailing it to cmsegrad@msu.edu.
It is also possible to pursue one of the CMSE graduate certificates while not being enrolled in an MSU degree program. This requires an application via the MSU Graduate admission website, and only requires the application form and transcripts from any prior undergraduate or graduate coursework/degrees (in particular, recommendation letters and personal/research statements are not required). Please contact the CMSE graduate director if you wish to pursue this opportunity.
Note that graduate students pursuing either the Master of Science in CMSE, the Doctor of Philosophy in CMSE, or a dual PhD in CMSE and a second subject may not receive either the Graduate Certificate in Computational Modeling or the Graduate Certificate in High Performance Computing.
