M.S. in Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering
MS Degree in Data Science Degree (MSDS) Is now accepting applications - Michigan State University's MS degree in Data Science (MSDS) is a new cross-cutting professional MS degree program shared by the College of Engineering and the College of Natural Science. It is a collaboration among three departments: the Department of Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (CMSE), the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and the Department of Statistics and Probability (STT). The program is administered by STT. For more information about this exciting new opportunity please see the MSDS website:

M.S. Degree in Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering - At present, we are not accepting applications for admission directly to CMSE MS degree. If you are interested in graduate school in CMSE please consider applying directly to the CMSE PhD program. More information about appling to the CMSE phD program can be found here:

The overall goal of the Master's program in Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering is to educate and inspire students in the interdisciplinary areas of science and engineering focusing on the intersection of algorithms, applications, and data. The degree offered will be a M.S. in Computational Science and Engineering.
This Master's program gives students broad and deep knowledge of the fundamental techniques used in computational modeling and data science and significant exposure to at least one application domain. A more detailed description of the program can be found in the Graduate Handbook.
If you have any additional questions, please contact the CMSE Graduate Director.
